RENAMIDE-5%

Composition:

• Furosemide: 50 mg per ml

Properties:

• Potent diuretic with rapid onset action
• Increases sodium and water excretion without potassium loss
• Effective even in cases of glomerular filtration impairment

Indications: For use in cattle, equines, dogs, cats, and pigs for conditions such as:

• Pathological edema of the udder and perineum at parturition
• Preputial or scrotal edema in male animals
• Supportive treatment for ascites, hydrothorax, bronchopneumonia, hydropericardium, joint and tendon sheath bursae
• Supportive treatment for laminitis and paralytic myoglobinuria in horses
• Protein deficiency edema due to renal proteinuria, liver lesions, parasitic infestations, malnutrition, and generalized skin edema and ascites
• Skin edema due to blood vessel lesions from toxicity, trauma, allergy, inflammations, wounds, and surgery

Dosage: Administer by intramuscular or slow intravenous injection:

• Equines: 5-10 ml once or twice daily with intervals of 6-8 hours
• Cattle: 10 ml once, or 5 ml twice with intervals of 6-8 hours
• Dogs, Cats: 0.25-0.5 ml per 5 kg body weight once or twice daily with intervals of 6-8 hours
• Pigs: 1 ml per 10 kg body weight once or as determined empirically

Safety Period:

• Meat and milk consumption: 2 days

Remarks:

• Not to be used in cases of renal failure with anuria, oliguria, acute glomerulonephritis, electrolyte deficiency disease, or digitalis overdose
• Therapeutic effect may be impaired by increased water intake
• Diuresis may be enhanced with oral NaCl intake
• Hypocalcemic animals may experience tetany

• Store in a dry, dark place below 30°C
