Prostaglandin Analogue – Luteolytic Agent

Product Description:
PGS Injectable Solution is a sterile, clear formulation containing cloprostenol sodium, a synthetic prostaglandin F₂α analogue. It is designed to induce luteolysis for effective control of the reproductive cycle in horses and cattle.

Key Benefits:
Induces complete luteolysis
Synchronizes estrous cycles
Improves breeding efficiency
Aids in treating reproductive disorders
Well-tolerated and easy to administer

Composition (per ml):
Cloprostenol sodium – 263 µg
(Equivalent to 250 µg cloprostenol)
Chlorocresol – 0.1% w/v (preservative)

Mechanism of Action:
Cloprostenol sodium mimics endogenous prostaglandin F₂α, causing regression of the corpus luteum. This results in a drop in progesterone levels and the initiation of a new estrous cycle.

Indications:

Horses (Mares):

  • Treatment of prolonged luteal phases

  • Induction of estrus in mares with persistent corpus luteum

Cattle (Cows and Heifers):

  • Synchronization of estrus for timed breeding programs

  • Treatment of functional nymphomania (persistent heat)

  • Adjunct therapy in the management of pyometra

  • Control of luteal function in reproductive protocols

Target Species:
Cattle (dairy and beef)
Horses (mares)

Administration and Dosage:

  • Route: Intramuscular injection

  • Dosage: Determined by veterinarian based on species and reproductive protocol

  • Veterinary supervision is required for precise application and timing
