Active ingredient: Omeprazole 370 mg/g (equivalent to 407 mg/mL)


Pharmacological Action:
Omeprazole is a potent proton pump inhibitor that blocks gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase enzyme system within gastric parietal cells.

Formulated in an oil-based carrier, OMOGUARD ensures stability in gastric acid and facilitates absorption in the small intestine.


Indications:

  • Treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in horses and foals

  • Safe for use in foals from 1 month old

  • Suitable for horses in training, racing, or competition


Clinical Signs of Gastric Ulcers:

  • Adults: Inappetence, colic, weight loss, soft feces, poor coat, decreased performance

  • Foals: Teeth grinding, diarrhea, drooling, weakness, sternal recumbency


Dosage & Administration:

  • Treatment: 4 mg/kg/day (5 mL orally) for 28 days

  • Prevention: 1 mg/kg/day (1.25 mL orally) for ongoing management

  • Long-term use recommended for recurrence prevention

Directions

<li> Treatment: 4 mg/kg/day. Adult horse (500 kg): 5 mL orally once daily for 28
