Indications
GOLD-CORT™ (flumethasone) is a potent synthetic corticosteroid derived from prednisolone. It is chemically modified for increased anti-inflammatory and gluconeogenic activity. It is indicated for use in horses suffering from acute musculoskeletal conditions without permanent joint damage, including:

Tendinitis and myositis

Bursitis and carpitis

Sprains and muscular soreness

Osselets and laminitis (supportive therapy)

Heat exhaustion and fatigue

Support during strangles (distemper)
Dosage and Administration
Horses: 1.25–2.5 mg (3–5 mL) once daily, administered via intravenous, intramuscular, or intra-articular injection.
Dosage must be determined by a veterinarian based on the severity of the condition.
Precautions and Contraindications

Contraindicated during the final trimester of pregnancy

Avoid long-term high-dose therapy to prevent adrenal suppression

Gradual withdrawal recommended after prolonged use

Monitor closely for fluid retention or electrolyte imbalance

May mask signs of infection such as fever or lethargy

Use concurrently with appropriate antibiotics in bacterial infections
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light. Follow all local veterinary guidelines regarding medication use in performance animals.
