Equi-Iron Injection

Equi-Iron Injection is a concentrated injectable iron supplement designed to prevent and treat iron-deficiency anaemia in horses.
It supports red blood cell regeneration, enhances oxygen transport, and helps improve endurance and recovery in racing, performance, and breeding horses.

• Iron (as Iron Dextran Complex) ................................ 200 mg

• Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) .................................... 200 µg

• Cobalt (as Cobalt Gluconate) ........................................ 0.5 mg

Pharmacological Action

Iron is a key element in haemoglobin and myoglobin synthesis, essential for oxygen transport to muscles and tissues.
Vitamin B12 and cobalt enhance red blood cell formation and support energy metabolism.

Combined, they restore vitality in anaemic or fatigued horses by:

Dosage & Administration

Route: Deep Intramuscular (IM) injection

Dosage should be adjusted according to anaemia severity and veterinary assessment.

Contraindications

⚠️ Do not administer intravenously.
⚠️ Avoid in animals with hypersensitivity to iron preparations.
⚠️ Do not mix with other injections in the same syringe.

Precautions

• Use aseptic technique for injection.

• Observe injection site for possible swelling or irritation.
