Diurex Injection
Diurex Injection is a fast-acting diuretic formulation designed to promote urine excretion, reduce edema, and eliminate excess body fluids caused by heart, kidney, or training-related stress.
It is commonly used in racehorses and performance animals to maintain optimal fluid balance and prevent fluid retention before or after exercise.
Active Constituent (per mL)
-
Furosemide (Lasix) ................................................... 50 mg
Pharmacological Action
Furosemide acts on the loop of Henle in the kidney to inhibit sodium and chloride reabsorption, leading to increased urine output and reduced extracellular fluid volume.
This mechanism lowers blood pressure, relieves congestion, and helps prevent exercise-induced pulmonary hemorrhage (EIPH) in racehorses.
Indications
✅ Elimination of excess body fluids and edema
✅ Prevention of pulmonary hemorrhage during racing
✅ Treatment of heart or kidney-related fluid retention
✅ Reduction of swelling in joints or tissues
✅ Detoxification and flushing of metabolic waste
