Detomo Vet® Injection is a potent alpha-2 adrenergic agonist sedative and analgesic formulated specifically for horses.
It provides reliable sedation, muscle relaxation, and pain relief for diagnostic, minor surgical, and handling procedures.

Pharmacological Action

Detomidine acts on alpha-2 adrenoceptors in the central nervous system, reducing norepinephrine release and inducing sedation, analgesia, and muscle relaxation.
It provides a calm but responsive state, facilitating safe handling and minor surgical interventions.

Indications

✅ Sedation and analgesia in horses during diagnostic or therapeutic procedures

Dosage & Administration

Route: Intravenous (IV) or Intramuscular (IM) injection

For deeper sedation or prolonged procedures, combine with butorphanol or ketamine under veterinary supervision.

Contraindications

⚠️ Do not use in horses with cardiac, respiratory, or hepatic disease.
⚠️ Not for use in pregnant mares near term.
⚠️ Avoid use in dehydrated or shocked animals.
⚠️ Not for animals intended for human consumption.

Storage

• Store below 25°C, away from light.

• Do not freeze.

Precautions

• Ensure a quiet environment after injection for full sedative effect.

• Allow adequate recovery time before returning the horse to normal activity.
