Carbotek

Composition:
Each 1 ml contains:

• Sodium Bicarbonate 84 mg (1 mEq/ml)

• Clear, colorless, sterile solution

Indications:
Carbotek is indicated for use in horses, cattle, sheep, goats, dogs, and cats to treat metabolic and respiratory acidosis caused by various clinical conditions, including:

• Renal dysfunction

• Uncontrolled diabetes

• Shock or dehydration

• Cardiac arrest or lactic acidosis

• CO₂ retention (respiratory acidosis)

• Impaired hydrogen ion excretion (renal acidosis)

Administration & Dosage:

• Administer slowly via intravenous injection

• Dosage: 2–5 mEq/kg body weight over 4–8 hours (equivalent to 2–5 ml/kg)

• If CO₂ levels are unknown, dilute in 5% dextrose or isotonic saline

• Adjust dosage based on blood pH, CO₂ levels, and clinical signs

• Reduce dose frequency once symptoms improve

Withdrawal Periods:

• Meat and Milk: 0 days
