Mastitek is a veterinary intramammary suspension developed to treat clinical mastitis in racing horses and camels. Its formulation contains broad-spectrum antibiotics, targeting the most common mastitis-causing pathogens such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and E. coli.

Indications:

  • Treatment of clinical mastitis in racing horses and camels

  • Active against Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., and E. coli


Dosage and Administration:

  1. Thoroughly milk out the affected mammary lobe

  2. Clean the teat using a suitable disinfectant

  3. Administer one 10 g syringe into the infected quarter

  4. Repeat after the next milking following the same steps


Important Warnings:

  • Allergy Alert: Do not use in animals sensitive to cephalexin or kanamycin

  • Milk Withdrawal: Discard milk for 5 days (10 milkings) after last treatment

  • Meat Withdrawal: Do not slaughter treated animals for meat within 10 days
