CALJECT INJECTABLE SOLUTION

Composition (per 100 ml):

  • Calcium Gluconate: 46.5 g

  • Calcium Acetate: 3.7 g

  • Magnesium Hypophosphite Hexahydrate: 3 g

  • Boric Acid (as excipient)

Description:
Calject is a sterile, clear pale yellow injectable solution formulated to correct deficiencies in calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus in livestock. It provides rapid and reliable correction of metabolic imbalances across a range of clinical situations.


Indications:
Calject is indicated for use in cattle, horses, sheep, and goats to treat and prevent conditions caused by mineral deficiencies, including:

  • Milk fever (puerperal paresis)

  • Pregnancy toxemia and metabolic imbalances during calving

  • Tetany syndromes: lactation tetany, transport tetany, barn tetany, and grass tetany

  • Bone and growth disorders: rickets, osteomalacia, growth retardation, joint defects

  • Neuromuscular issues: paresis, paraplegia, tetany from post-operative stress

  • Vascular conditions: internal bleeding, epistaxis, haemoglobinuria postpartum

  • Allergic reactions: anaphylaxis, urticaria, laminitis, serum sickness

  • Toxin support: poisoning by moldy feed, phosphorus compounds, or envenomation

Dosage and Administration:
Administer slowly via intravenous, intramuscular, or subcutaneous injection. Dosage should be determined by a veterinarian. Typical dosages:

Treatment Response:
A positive response is seen within minutes: muscular tremors, improved pulse, normalized respiration, and standing attempts. Once improvement is observed, stop administration immediately. Additional dosing may be given under veterinary supervision if necessary.


Re-Treatment:
If the animal does not improve within 5–8 hours, repeat treatment as advised.
